Oprah Winfrey dhuron 10 milionë dollarë për luftën ndaj COVID-19

Oprah Winfrey është figura e radhës publike që hapi portofolin e saj në mes të pandemisë.

Ajo dhuroi 10 milionë dollarë për të ndihmuar amerikanët, e këtë gjë e konfirmoi përmes një postimi në Instagram.

Winfrey bëri të ditur se 1 milion dollarë nga donacioni i saj do të shkojnë për “America’s Food Fund”.

Nisma u themelua nga aktori Leonardo DiCaprio dhe Laurne Powell Jobs të enjten me mbështetjen e Apple dhe Fondacionit Ford, me qëllim të ofrimit të lehtësimit të urisë për komunitetet e prekura nga koronavirusi.

“Të gjithë ata që janë ulur në shtëpi dhe mendojnë, nuk e di se çfarë të bëj dhe nuk e di se ku mund t’i jap paratë e mia, e di se mund t’i besoj paratë e mia në duart tuaja”, tha Winfrey.

“Unë po dhuroj 10 milionë dollarë  për të ndihmuar amerikanët gjatë kësaj pandemie në qytete në të gjithë vendin dhe në zonat ku jam rritur”, ka shkruar ndër të tjera ajo.

Donacione kanë dhuruar edhe të famshëm të tjerë, përfshirë edhe Ryan Reynolds dhe Blake Lively, të cilët dhuruan 1 milionë dollarë.

I was struck by the work these organizations are doing and while everyone’s priority right now is to stay safer at home, I know there are many of us looking for ways to help. I believe that America’s Food Fund will be a powerful way to make a difference for our neighbors in need and am committing $1 million to this fund to support those facing food insecurity.
